Mason is turning out to be one awesome little boy. He's, for the most part, always happy, a great eater, great napper, and very mobile for one who doesn't crawl yet. I'm not sure how he rolls SO FAST but he's across the house in a matter of seconds.
He's very strong too! He pushes himself all the way up on his arms (is it Up Dog?) and is slowly bringing those knees up under him. He's gotten up on all fours a few times, I'm just too slow with the camera. But he may be crawling soon- I'm not sure if I can handle that!
Mason talks ALL THE TIME! Mostly in giggles, but he's saying a lot of nonsense goo-goo sounds. Hopefully he'll say mommy, unlike his older sister who didn't have a name for me for 18 months.
He's still sucking on everything. You can't pick this boy up with out him sucking your arm, shirt, neck, hair, or whatever else happens to be in the vicinity of your shoulder. I always have to have a bib on him, or a burp cloth handy to keep myself from being attacked.
And he's a major drooler! Still hasn't stopped, and with no teeth lurking anywhere near, it's going to last for a long time.
He reaches for his toys and complains when Brighton takes one away. We've been trying to teach her that if she takes one from him, she needs to give him a new one. That seems to be working. He was getting really angry in the above picture because his toy was just out of reach. If I leave Mason to roll around the living room, he some how always manages to get stuck under something. Mostly my chair. This is a typical hiding spot for Mason.
I think he's taking up some pointers from the dog who stays under the coffee table to avoid Brighton.Mason has discovered his feet! Brighton never had any interest in her toes, but Mason is in this position for most of the day. He's almost sitting up on his own, so that will make things interesting for him once he's got that mastered. And he's pretty good at standing when he's holding our hands.
I got on the scale with him and it says he weighs about 20 pounds. I know! He's humongous! I'll have to get you his exact stats when he's goes to the Dr. for his 6 month check-up. He's wearing his 6-12 month clothes and they're fitting him pretty perfectly right now. Brighton didn't hit 20 pounds until she was over a year old- Mason is beefy!
