Bottoms Up

Don't worry, I just bleached the floor! Brighton was rolling around the living room and rolled right into the kitchen with me. I just wanted to share her newest little trick- sticking her butt up in the air! You can see, she is quite pleased with herself. She will be crawling in no time!

Ribbons and Ruffles!

I am having such a fun time with my sewing machine! I'm doing a ton of little projects to fine tune my skills before putting them to the test in a quilt. At least, that's my reason for procrastinating on actually making a quilt. But I AM having fun making fun little things for Brighton. I made her this little dress- it will hopefully fit her in a few months- and this little skirt. I am IN LOVE with this skirt! I just am so proud of how cute it turned out, so proud that I made one for Kaylin! Now she and B can be twinners! B wore it to church today and looked absolutely fabulous!

Mother's Day

I totally forgot to share with you the flowers that my family sent me for Mother's Day! I thought it was a really pretty bouquet, with roses and carnations. I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but the stems are wrapped up in leaves, which I thought was such a cool idea. I had to teach in Relief Society at church, so I got a break from being mommy for an hour, while a friend watched Brighton. Then, when we got home, Dale made lunch and took care of Brighton. He also made dinner for us that night. It was so nice to have a rest from cooking and cleaning and to just be pampered for a day. All you moms out there, hope you had a great Mother's Day!

Comin' Up Tulips

Dale planted these tulip bulbs for me months ago, so long ago, that I'd forgotten they were there...until they started popping up! Yay! I love tulips! Dale ripped out a really ugly bush that we had growing in the front yard over these stupid boxes. He planted the little blue bushes, ground cover, to hopefully grow over and hide this ugly part of our front yard. The other bushes should grow really fast to cover the plastic towers we have, too.


Dale planted this tree bush thing in our yard, too. I think it's a little close to the house, but it's his yard...

Little Reader

This morning I put some toys around Brighton, so she could roll around and have some fun while I made breakfast. She loves this little animal book that she has, and it kinda looks like she's reading...

Gettin' Crafty

I made this stuffed elephant for Brighton last week, and I think he turned out ok, a little lumpy and deformed, but still looks like an elephant!
I found a pattern from Martha Stewart on this bag. It seemed like something I could do to ease myself into sewing, and it was! It's from a pillowcase that I found for 99 cents at the second hand store, and some old flower pins that I had. I really like it, and it's roomy!

Why do we bother?

Yes, Brighton is chewing on the door stop. Why do we bother to buy her toys? She only likes door stops, paper, boxes, and our dining table...

Our Neighbor's Yard- AFTER!

So after a very long day, Dale finally had the lawn mowed. He still has more that he wants to do to make it look nicer, but 10 hours was all he could handle for one day. All the grass won't fit in one yard waste bin, or two, or three, so he had to take it to a compost dump. It was a quarter of a ton of grass!

Our Neighbor's Yard

Our neighbor is in the military, stationed in Kosovo, and isn't home to mow her lawn for obvious reasons. She had another neighbor mowing it for $100 a month, and they weren't doing a very good job. The lawn is really big and they would only do about a third of it at a time, so it was always uneven and awful looking. We got tired of looking at it, so Dale got in touch with her. She hadn't heard from the neighbors who were mowing it since November! So Dale told her not to worry, that he would take care of it for her and do a really nice job. He spent 10 hours on it on Saturday! Here are some before pictures:

Play-Date

Missy came over with her puppies to get a haircut last week. Sawyer and her are IN LOVE! They have so much fun playing together. They chased each other around the house until they collapsed in exhaustion. This is them after a few hours of playing. They are so lazy!
